Fiat Scudo

The Fiat Scudo is the medium-sized van from Fiat Professional, intended for installers, service companies, delivery services and construction-related businesses that combine city and motorway driving every day. The current generation (2022 and later) is technically identical to the Peugeot Expert, Citroen Jumpy, Opel Vivaro and Toyota Proace and is supplied in three lengths with a roof height below approximately 1.95 m, so car parks remain accessible. Besides the closed panel van there are a double cab and a chassis cab for conversions. Power comes from four-cylinder turbodiesels and the fully electric e-Scudo with a 50 or 75 kWh battery. The previous generation (2007-2016) shared its engineering with the Peugeot Expert II and Citroen Jumpy II and did have a high-roof version.

Scudo III (based on the Peugeot Expert / Stellantis EMP2) (2022-present)

The Scudo returned in 2022 on the Stellantis EMP2 platform and is technically identical to the Peugeot Expert, Citroen Jumpy, Opel Vivaro and Toyota Proace. Compared with the 2007-2016 generation the high roof was dropped and a lower, car-park-friendly profile arrived, plus a fully electric e-Scudo. With the 2024 facelift the front end and driver assistance systems were updated, and from 2025 a 2.2-litre diesel replaced the earlier 1.5 and 2.0 engines.

Trim levels

BusinessEntry version with twin rear doors, right-hand sliding door, central locking, electric windows, cruise control with speed limiter, air conditioning and a visibility package with automatic high beam and rain sensor.

LoungeBuilds on Business with equipment including fog lights, a more extensive audio system, a two-seat passenger bench with storage compartment, lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition and driver fatigue detection.

PrimoHigher version from the later range with equipment including surround-view camera images, digital rear-view mirror, front and rear parking sensors, blind spot warning and folding door mirrors.

Scudo II (based on the Peugeot Expert II / Citroen Jumpy II) (2007-2016)

This generation was developed in 2007 together with Peugeot and Citroen and grew considerably compared with the first Scudo: two wheelbases, two roof heights and load volumes of approximately 5 to 7 m3. Besides the closed panel van there were Combi and Panorama versions with extra seats and a chassis cab. From 2011 heavier Euro 5 diesel versions joined the range.

What to look out for on a used example

The 1.5 and 2.0 BlueHDi have a timing belt interval of around 180,000 km or 10 years; ask for invoices and listen for rattling noises on a cold start.
The AdBlue systems of BlueHDi diesels can develop faults from around 80,000 km due to crystallisation in the dosing unit or sensor; check whether any fault codes are stored in the memory.
On every version, check that the sliding door runs smoothly along the full length of the rails and that the seals and rollers are not worn.
On the 2007-2016 generation, worn ball joints and knocking front suspension are known wear points; listen over speed bumps on a test drive and look out for a humming noise from the drivetrain.
