Diesel generator or engine-driven cooling?

The cooling unit of a refrigerated van is usually driven either by its own diesel generator or by the vehicle's engine. A generator cools independently of the drive engine, even while stationary during unloading - handy for delivery rounds with many stops. The downside is the extra maintenance and fuel consumption of the unit itself. Engine-driven or electric cooling is simpler and quieter, but cools less effectively when the vehicle stands still for long periods with the engine off. For daily hospitality deliveries, a generator is often more practical; for shorter trips with limited stops, a simpler system will suffice.

Which refrigerated van suits your use?

For smaller volumes and city deliveries, a compact refrigerated van is often sufficient, with a payload up to approximately 1.500 kg. If you deliver larger quantities of meat, fish or flowers, a refrigerated box truck with a separate cargo box offers more volume and often a tail lift for easy loading and unloading.
