Large van

Citroën Jumper

The Citroën Jumper is Citroën's large van and has been built since 2006 in the Sevel joint venture, which makes it technically identical to the Fiat Ducato and Peugeot Boxer (and since 2021 also to the Opel Movano). The model is designed for transporting large volumes: closed panel van with 8 to 17 m3 of load space, plus chassis cab and double cab as a base for box trucks, tippers and motorhomes. In the Netherlands the Jumper is mainly used by construction and installation companies, courier and distribution services and as a conversion base for bodybuilders. Power comes almost entirely from four-cylinder diesels; since 2020 there has also been a fully electric e-Jumper. With the 2024 facelift the model gained a new front end, an updated interior and a more powerful electric drivetrain.

Jumper III (2006-2024, incl. the 2014 and 2021 facelifts) (2006-2024)

This generation came onto the market in 2006 with the familiar L1-L4/H1-H3 layout and 2.2 and 3.0 diesel engines. With the 2014 facelift the front end and dashboard were updated, and from 2016 the 2.0 BlueHDi (Euro 6) appeared in place of the 2.2 HDi. In 2019-2021 a second update followed with the 2.2 BlueHDi (Euro 6d) with 120, 140 and 165 hp, more driver assistance systems and, from 2020, the fully electric e-Jumper.

Jumper / ë-Jumper (facelift 2024-present) (2024-present)

The 2024 facelift brought a new front end in the current Citroën style, an updated dashboard with a larger touchscreen and more driver assistance systems. The diesel range consists of the 2.2 BlueHDi with 120, 140 and 180 hp, with the 140 and 180 hp also available with the eight-speed EAT8 automatic. The biggest change is in the electric ë-Jumper: a 200 kW motor with a 110 kWh LFP battery and a WLTP range of up to approximately 424 km, with rapid charging up to 150 kW. In the Netherlands the range starts at L2 after the facelift; the L1 body was dropped.

The dimensions at a glance

Of the Citroën Jumper there are 13 versions, load length 267 cm to 407 cm, load volume 8,0 m³ to 17,0 m³. The full dimensions table by version, with wheelbase, exterior dimensions, width between the wheel arches and Euro pallets, is on the dimensions page.

What the Jumper is known for

  • Load volume of 8 to 17 m3 and payload up to about 1,500 kg at 3,500 kg gross vehicle weight
  • Load floor height and load area width between the wheel arches of 1,422 mm, so a Euro pallet fits crossways
  • Front-wheel drive with a flat load floor, which keeps the body height low
  • Wide range of chassis cab, double cab and Luton box body, often used by bodybuilders
  • Technically shared with the Fiat Ducato and Peugeot Boxer, so parts and workshop expertise are widely available in the Netherlands

What to look out for on a used example

  • The 2.2 and 2.0 diesel engines have a timing belt; depending on model year and engine version, the prescribed replacement interval is around 150,000-180,000 km or about 10 years. Check that this is documented in the maintenance history.
  • Euro 5 and Euro 6 versions with a particulate filter (and on BlueHDi also AdBlue) are sensitive to exclusively short trips: look out for fault messages relating to the particulate filter, the AdBlue system and the EGR.
  • Check the sliding door rails, the rear door hinges and the locks; with intensive use in distribution these show visible wear.
  • On a heavily laden example, check the rear suspension and the leaf springs, and inspect the load floor and wheel arches for wear-through and rust on the underside.

These points apply to the model in general. What applies to a specific vehicle depends on its maintenance history; we discuss this for every vehicle we sell.
