Medium-sized van

Peugeot Expert

The Peugeot Expert is Peugeot's medium-sized van and has been built since 2016 on the EMP2 platform that Stellantis shares with the Citroen Jumpy, Opel Vivaro, Toyota Proace and later the Fiat Scudo. The model comes in three lengths (Compact, Standard and Long) and has only one roof height of approximately 1.90 m, so the vehicle can pass under most car park barriers. In the Netherlands the Expert is particularly popular with installers, construction companies, service providers and municipalities; besides the closed panel van there are a double cab, a chassis cab and the Traveller passenger version. Since 2020 the fully electric e-Expert has been in the price list alongside the diesel versions, with the same load dimensions. In 2024 the model received a facelift with a new front end, a revised interior and a modified engine range.

The 2024 facelift brought a new front end, an updated interior and the engine range 1.5 BlueHDi 120, 2.0 BlueHDi 145 and 2.0 BlueHDi 180.

The dimensions at a glance

Of the Peugeot Expert there are 6 versions, load length 216 cm to 286 cm, load volume 4,6 m³ to 6,1 m³. The full dimensions table by version, with wheelbase, exterior dimensions, width between the wheel arches and Euro pallets, is on the dimensions page.

What the Expert is known for

  • Payload up to approximately 1,400 kg and load volume of 4.6 to 6.6 m3 (including Moduwork load-through hatch)
  • Overall height of approximately 1.90 m, so the vehicle fits in most car parks
  • Three lengths with identical load dimensions for diesel and electric, so racking systems are interchangeable
  • Dense dealer and service network in the Netherlands and many parts shared with the Jumpy, Vivaro, Proace and Scudo
  • Wide supply on the Dutch used market, also with a double cab and as the electric e-Expert

What to look out for on a used example

  • Timing belt: the factory interval is around 160,000-180,000 km or 10 years on the 2.0 BlueHDi and around 180,000 km or 10 years on the 1.5/1.6 BlueHDi; ask for the receipt for the most recent replacement.
  • BlueHDi diesels use AdBlue and a particulate filter; with many short trips, particulate filter and AdBlue messages can occur, so check the fault codes and the service book.
  • Check the sliding door rails, door rollers and the closing of the rear doors; in commercial use with a lot of door movement this is a known wear point.
  • On the e-Expert: ask for a battery condition report and the remaining battery warranty (factory warranty 8 years or 160,000 km to 70% capacity) and check which charging capacity and cables are included.

These points apply to the model in general. What applies to a specific vehicle depends on its maintenance history; we discuss this for every vehicle we sell.
