Good to know: the Mercedes-Benz Citan and the Renault Kangoo are built on the same production line. Body, dimensions, load area and engines are identical; the difference lies in the badge, the names of the trim levels, the dealer network and the used price. If you choose purely on load space, you can therefore look at both.

Where they differ
Technically, the Mercedes-Benz Citan and the Renault Kangoo hardly differ. Where you do notice a difference in practice:
- The names of the trim levels and which options are standard differ by brand.
- The dealer and service network in your region can make a difference: check where you can go for maintenance and warranty.
- Used prices vary. The same van can be cheaper under one badge than under the other.
- Supply differs: in the Netherlands there are more of one brand on the market than of the other.
Which one suits whom?
Because the Mercedes-Benz Citan and the Renault Kangoo are technically identical, in practice you choose on price, on what is for sale at the time and on the dealer network near you. So look at the individual vehicle: maintenance history, mileage and version carry more weight than the badge.
