Nissan Navara
The Nissan Navara NP300 (D23) is a pick-up with a ladder frame chassis and selectable four-wheel drive, supplied in the Netherlands from 2015 to 2021. The model was offered as a King Cab (with a grey registration also as a chassis cab for conversions such as a tipper body) and as a Double Cab with five seats. It is used by contractors, landscapers, agricultural businesses and in the construction and installation sector, and by businesses and private individuals who tow a trailer or horse trailer of up to 3,500 kg. The Double Cab has multi-link rear suspension with coil springs, which benefits ride comfort on the road.

Successor to the Navara D40 with a new 2.3 dCi engine (160 or 190 hp, 190 hp with twin-turbo) instead of the 2.5 dCi, and on the Double Cab multi-link rear suspension with coil springs instead of leaf springs. In 2016 the Euro 6 version with AdBlue arrived; in 2019 (model year 2019) Euro 6d-temp followed, with the 160 hp engine gaining more torque (425 Nm).

What the Navara is known for
- Braked towing capacity up to 3,500 kg
- Payload up to approximately 1,235 kg (King Cab chassis cab)
- Ladder frame chassis with selectable four-wheel drive, reduction gearbox and electronic limited-slip differential (eLSD)
- Multi-link rear suspension with coil springs on the Double Cab
- 2.3 dCi diesel engine with a timing chain instead of a timing belt
What to look out for on a used example
- Service interval according to Nissan 2 years or 40,000 km; request the maintenance history, especially with a lot of towing.
- Euro 6 versions (from 2016) use AdBlue and a particulate filter; check the AdBlue system and whether the particulate filter can regenerate regularly (few short trips).
- Check the registration type: King Cab and chassis cab were supplied with a grey registration, the Double Cab with a yellow registration (including BPM).
- Check the chassis, load bed and tow bar for rust and damage from heavy use, and the rear suspension for sagging.
These points apply to the model in general. What applies to a specific vehicle depends on its maintenance history; we discuss this for every vehicle we sell.
