Dimensions Volkswagen Caddy
The Caddy comes in two lengths: the standard (L1) and the approximately 35-47 cm longer Maxi (L2). There is only one roof height (H1), so in practice you only choose between the standard and the Maxi. The Caddy 5 (Caddy Cargo, from 2020) has a wider load floor between the wheel arches (1,230 mm) than the Caddy 4, so a Euro pallet fits crossways; on the Caddy 4 it just does not. Anyone regularly carrying long goods or two pallets should choose the Maxi; for city work the standard version is enough.

Frequently asked questions about the dimensions
What do L1, L2, H1 and H2 mean?
L stands for the length (wheelbase and overhang), H for the roof height. The higher the number, the longer or higher the van. From H2 upwards you can stand upright in the load area on most models.
How many Euro pallets fit inside?
A Euro pallet measures 120 × 80 cm. What counts is the width between the wheel arches (at least 120 cm for two pallets side by side lengthways) and the load length. The "Euro pallets" column gives the number that fits flat on the floor.
Can I drive this van on a category B licence?
Yes, as long as the gross vehicle weight does not exceed 3,500 kg. Versions up to 3,500 kg are listed in the "Max. weight" column; heavier versions (5,000 kg, for example) require a C1 licence.
Are these dimensions correct for every vehicle?
These are manufacturer figures per version. Bodies (box body, refrigerated body, tail lift), roof racks and changes from year to year can differ. During a viewing in Mijdrecht we will measure the dimension that matters to you on the spot.
