Dimensions Mercedes-Benz Vito
The Vito W447 has only one roof height (H1), so the choice is purely about length: Compact (L1), Long (L2) and Extra Long (L3). Since 2019 Mercedes has used the codes L1/L2/L3 instead of Compact/Long/Extra Long; the Compact disappeared from the range during the W447 generation. L1 and L2 share the same 3200 mm wheelbase (the L2 has a longer overhang), the L3 has 3430 mm. The load area is equally wide and high on every length (1680 x approximately 1390 mm, 1270 mm between the wheel arches), so only the load length and load volume differ; alongside the panel van there are a double cab (Mixto) and the passenger versions Vito Tourer and eVito Tourer.

|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| L1H1L1H1 (Compact) - short length, standard roofThe Compact was dropped later in the W447 generation; the exterior height varies by version and wheel size (approximately 1880-1930 mm). Weights and the number of Euro pallets are indicative. | 320 cm | 490 cm | 193 cm | 191 cm | 259 cm | 168 cm | 127 cm | 139 cm | 5,5 m³ | 2 | 2800 – 3050 kg | 700 – 1100 kg |
| L2H1L2H1 (Long) - standard length, standard roofThe best-selling version. Loading sill approximately 558 mm. Payload depends heavily on the engine, drivetrain and chosen gross vehicle weight. | 320 cm | 514 cm | 193 cm | 191 cm | 283 cm | 168 cm | 127 cm | 139 cm | 6,0 m³ | 3 | 2800 – 3200 kg | 800 – 1369 kg |
| L3H1L3H1 (Extra Long) - long wheelbase, standard roofFor the facelift an exterior height of approximately 1945 mm is also quoted, depending on trim level and tyres. | 343 cm | 537 cm | 193 cm | 191 cm | 306 cm | 168 cm | 127 cm | 139 cm | 6,6 m³ | 3 | 2800 – 3200 kg | 800 – 1300 kg |

| L3H1 DCL3H1 double cab (Mixto) - long wheelbase, six seatsSome sources also quote an exterior length of 5370 mm; the load length is measured behind the second row of seats. | 343 cm | 539 cm | 193 cm | 191 cm | 183 cm | 168 cm | 127 cm | 139 cm | – | 2 | 2800 – 3200 kg | – |
| eVito L2H1electric panel van, standard lengthThe battery pack sits under the floor, so the load area dimensions are the same as the diesel; payload is lower because of the battery weight. | 320 cm | 514 cm | 193 cm | 191 cm | 283 cm | 168 cm | 127 cm | 139 cm | 6,0 m³ | 3 | 3050 – 3200 kg | 700 – 900 kg |

Frequently asked questions about the dimensions
What do L1, L2, H1 and H2 mean?
L stands for the length (wheelbase and overhang), H for the roof height. The higher the number, the longer or higher the van. From H2 upwards you can stand upright in the load area on most models.
How many Euro pallets fit inside?
A Euro pallet measures 120 × 80 cm. What counts is the width between the wheel arches (at least 120 cm for two pallets side by side lengthways) and the load length. The "Euro pallets" column gives the number that fits flat on the floor.
Can I drive this van on a category B licence?
Yes, as long as the gross vehicle weight does not exceed 3,500 kg. Versions up to 3,500 kg are listed in the "Max. weight" column; heavier versions (5,000 kg, for example) require a C1 licence.
Are these dimensions correct for every vehicle?
These are manufacturer figures per version. Bodies (box body, refrigerated body, tail lift), roof racks and changes from year to year can differ. During a viewing in Mijdrecht we will measure the dimension that matters to you on the spot.
