Opel Combo

The Opel Combo is Opel's compact van. The Combo D (2011-2018) was built by Fiat in Turkey and is technically identical to the Fiat Doblo Cargo, with Fiat diesel engines under the Opel type designation CDTI. Since 2018 the Combo E has been based on the Stellantis platform that it shares with the Citroen Berlingo, Peugeot Partner and Toyota Proace City. From 2021 it has also been available fully electric as the Combo-e Cargo, called Combo Electric since the late-2023 facelift. The van comes in two lengths, and on the Combo D also with a normal or high roof.

The dimensions at a glance

Of the Opel Combo there are 6 versions, load length 178 cm to 217 cm, load volume 3,3 m³ to 5,0 m³. The full dimensions table by version, with wheelbase, exterior dimensions, width between the wheel arches and Euro pallets, is on the dimensions page.

What the Combo is known for

  • Compact exterior dimensions with a load area that takes a Euro pallet
  • Combo D available with high roof (H2) and long wheelbase (L2)
  • Combo E technically identical to the Citroen Berlingo, Peugeot Partner and Toyota Proace City, with a wide range of parts
  • Combo E with 1.5 Diesel 130 hp also available with eight-speed automatic
  • Electric Combo-e/Combo Electric with 50 kWh battery and rapid charging up to 100 kW

What to look out for on a used example

  • Combo D with 1.6 or 2.0 CDTI: check that the particulate filter (DPF) and EGR valve are in order, especially after a lot of city driving.
  • Combo E with diesel engine: check the maintenance history (oil specification, timing belt) and whether any outstanding recall or warranty campaigns have been carried out.
  • Combo-e / Combo Electric: have the battery condition (State of Health) read out and check which on-board charger (single-phase or 11 kW three-phase) is fitted.
  • On all generations, check the load area, sliding door(s) and rear doors for damage from use.

These points apply to the model in general. What applies to a specific vehicle depends on its maintenance history; we discuss this for every vehicle we sell.

Compare the Combo with another model

Only models of the same size, so the comparison is fair.
